Mega Star

Packaged, High Efficiency, Multi-Fuel Burner for Aggregate Drying Applications. The MegaStar is designed to be easy to light, reliable, and efficient.

The MegaStar burner supports a wide variety of liquid and gaseous fuels offering flexibility for optimizing fuel costs. Low pressure atomization is used for light fuel oil or LP with high pressure compressed air atomization available for heavy fuel oils or high elevation installations. Emissions of NOX, CO and VOCs are minimized with proven and effective technologies. The burner’s wide range of flame shaping ability allows the flame to be adapted to specific process requirements. All combustion is completed within the recommended combustion zone, keeping emissions low by eliminating flame quenching from process materials. The MegaStar employs variable frequency drive (VFD) technology for precise air flow control over its entire operating range. Combining precise air flow control with real time fuel flow measurement results in maximum combustion efficiency and cost savings. The use of this VFD technology offers energy savings through reduced electricity consumption. The burner package is compact and easy to install, yet remains accessible and simple to service. The number of moving parts has been reduced and linkages have been eliminated to make the burner easy to maintain and adjust. The burner, paired with a Hauck BCS7000 panel, provides the ultimate solution for flame management, process control, and efficiency.Available in sizes ranging from a nominal 25 to 150 million Btu/h (7,327 to 43, 960 kW), for applications up to 1500 oF (815 oC). Custom lengths are also available for warm-mix applications.

long flame depending on the application. The burner’s wide turndown is particularly
useful when lower production rates are desired, such as when making cold patch material.

Features & Benefits:

  • No ignition tile
  • No combustion chamber required
  • Convenient flame shaping
  • Wide turndown
  • Compressed air option available
  • Fuels fired:
    • Heavy Fuel Oil
    • Light Fuel Oil
    • Natural Gas
    • Liquid Propane (LP)
    • Landfill Gas

WEBSTER COMBUSTION LINE:

HDRA-RF High Efficiency, High Turndown Low NOx Burner

Multi-Fuel Burner for Asphalt Dryers

The Webster Combustion model HDRA-RF is a multi-fuel register-style burner for asphalt rotary dryers that allows users to shape the flame by automatically controlling the register vanes to optimally fit their rotary dryer and combustion
zone. This allows the Webster burner to operate with a shorter flame than products offered by other asphalt burner manufacturers. This flame-shaping capability means the flame will not impinge on the material, and CO can be maintained at much lower levels than currently available. In addition, NOx levels for the HDRA-RF are significantly lower than typically seen in asphalt applications. The Webster Combustion HDRA-RF operates with lower motor HP, an optionally supplied VFD and an inlet air damper, which allows for higher turndown ranges to reduce energy usage and provide greater total energy savings.

The Webster Combustion HDRA-RF burner readily adapts to mount on both Parallel Flow and Counter Flow Dryers, and the burner housing and fan can be installed in multiple configurations depending on space constraints and elevator location. The Webster Combustion HDRA-RF Series Asphalt Burner is capable of burning a wide range of fuels, either separately or simultaneously, including Natural, LP, and low BTU gas, all commercially available grades of fuel oil, and qualified waste oils. A dual manifold combustion head is available for applications firing multiple gas fuels.

ABMS (Asphalt Burner Management System)
The ABMS (Asphalt Burner Management System) will provide precise material temperature control in either manual or automatic mode. This allows for optimum performance and emissions control. The system maintains the negative pressure in the drum by controlling the outlet damper of the exhaust fan or through the exhaust fan VFD. The ABMS provides an interface to the system
through the HMI and panel push-button switches and acts as the primary point of control. The panel HMI displays setup, diagnostic, and troubleshooting tools to allow the operator full control of the burner, with ethernet communications so you can stay connected from anywhere. Multiple status screens are available in the system for trouble-shooting and the system has continuous data logging which is stored on a hard drive and can be exported through a USB connection.

Twister Multi-Fuel Asphalt Burners for Aggregate Drying

Fully Modulating Register Burner for Automatic Flame Shaping
The Webster Combustion Twister series is an open-fired register-style burner for asphalt plants that allows the user to shape the flame by controlling the register vanes to optimally fit their aggregate dryer and combustion zone. This flame shaping capability means the flame will not impinge on the material, and CO can be maintained at lower levels. The Twister register can be controlled using either a servo or linkage to shape the flame quickly and easily during start-up, or when mix changes may require a change in setup.

The Webster Combustion Twister series open-fired burner operates with low motor HP and an integrally mounted fan, meaning users will enjoy a more compact burner system. Optionally supplied VFDs and control systems are available to maximize turndown capabilities, increase fuel savings and reduce total energy usage.

The Twister Series asphalt plant burners are capable of burning a wide range of fuels, either separately or simultaneously, including Natural, LP, and low BTU gases, all commercially available fuel oils, and qualified waste oils.
